Making fruit more fun than it already is!
Have you noticed that most of my kids activities are incredibly simple? I don’t have the time and energy for anything elaborate. This activity is the same, but somehow magically makes my kids eat more fruit. Now, I bet lots of kids don’t have a problem eating fruit, and so this is just a fun activity to pass the time. Mine get picky and “bored of that food!” When I was a kid, my mom and I used to make these a lot. It did make fruit more exciting.
Instructions:
- Give each kid a shish kabob skewer
- Lay out some assorted fruit.
- Let the kids choose their own for their sticks. This can be a fund way to learn about patterns.
Note: Robin said she didn’t like any of the fruit. I encouraged her to still make one for fun. By the end, she had eaten three types of fruit.
Note: Make sure to break up the skewers before throwing them out, or you will end up with a hole in the bag and garbage water all over the bottom of your garbage bin.
