Because sweeping up from the last sensory activity sucked.
As I was sweeping up oats and lentils from my kitchen floor, I thought to myself, “Man, I need to do this outside next time so I don’t have to sweep. But then I’d have a bunch of oats and lentils outside, and they’d just sit, getting soggier and soggier each day.” Then I realized the solution: Bird Seed! So I went out and bought a giant bag of bird seed, threw it in my (dry) water table, and added some woodland creature stuffed animals and a few measuring cups… oh and some separate bowls when sharing got difficult.
Sensory Play with Bird Seed
Go ahead! Make a mess! I don’t care! Feed the birds! Muahahahaha!
