Simpsons BBBQ

The Extra B stands for BBYOB

(What’s that extra B for? That’s a typo.)

Anyone who knows me well, knows they will eventually have to endure Simpsons quotes. The Simpsons shaped my ]sense of humour and was part of what first bonded me and my husband. My 30th birthday was my last hurrah because I was pregnant with twins, so we hired a caterer for a pig roast and I spent months making decorations (I had that kind of time back then). Here is how it all came together.

Decorations

Like Simpsons jokes, some of my decorations were obvious, and some were subtle. My parents actually let me put the “Two Bad Neighbors” sign up on the front of their house. Check out all the other things I put around the house.

Food

Somehow I didn’t manage to get a picture of a lot of the food, but here’s what I had:

  • A catered pig roast
  • Gaspacho and salad (check out the mems section)
  • Lard Lad donuts (I just made a fake box)
  • “America Ball” meatballs
  • A cake with a “Homer” bowling ball in it (also made of cake).
  • Beer with sticker paper overtop that made them look like Duff Beer (there are printable ones online)
  • Gum and Nuts (Together at Last)
  • A Jello “Blinky” fish with ping pong ball eyes

Costumes

We had a couple of costumes prepared in case someone walked in without a costume: Homer in a Pink Shirt, Bart Simpson Tie, and Idaho.

Embracing my pregnancy body, I went as Homer When He Gains Weight to Go On Disability. My husband was Duffman.

My Parents – Willy the Janitor and Agnes, Principal Skinner’s Mother

Patty and Selma, and Malibu Stacey with a New Hat

“That’s a Paddlin” Guy, Selma, and Homer in a Pink Shirt as well as Homer the Vigilante and the Cat Burgler. You can’t see it in this picture, but she was wearing sneakers… for sneaking.

Group Shot!

You may also notice Cookie Kwan (Stay off the West Side), Bart’s chalk board, Dr. Nick, Marg Simpson, The Salad you don’t make friends with.

Simpsons Trivia

You can’t have a Simpsons Party this detailed and not allow the true fans to demonstrate their knowledge!

I hope this gives you ideas for if you ever want to throw a Simpsons party of your own! And if you do… wanna buy all my stuff? It’s really taking up space in the garage!
