Grappling With the Big Questions
Many of us, who believe in such things, ponder the “Big Questions” now and then. How much can/will God intervene in our lives? Why do bad things happen to good people? I certainly wondered about these things, but I was too busy living my happy life to spend much mental energy on it, until my son died. Then the big questions were impossible to ignore. I just felt so angry at God and the universe for being such a place of suffering. I researched, I thought deeply, and I talked to spiritual counsellors. In the end, I created a sermon about suffering, bringing all my thoughts into a cohesive whole. I promise you that this is not a depressing sermon and it’s not just for Christians. There are jokes, sci fi references, psychology, physiology, and even a little Buddhism. I hope this helps you on your journey. I actually ended up running the entire service, so I wrote the prayers as well. I have posted three videos, the sermon, the whole service, and the sharing time video parody.

Sharing Time Parody
My sister and I had an actual phone conversation that was almost word-for-word what’s on this video. We thought we were so funny that we wrote it down and later filmed it for the church sharing time. It ended up having a bit of an echo in the video, so I posted it again here.
